Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Bristol

wilks Restaurant

1 - 3 Chandos Rd, Bristol BS6 6PG, UK – 0117 973 7999

Can't fault this place and has just won best restaurant in Bristol, which is thoroughly deserved. Had the tasting menu and the wine flight on my visit and the flavours complemented together really well. Staff were very well informed and explained each course as you went through. The wine waitress was equally as informed on her wines. Love coming to this place and will be back soon

I went to Wilks last night with my parents. The food, as others have said, was excellent - extremely high quality and much care and attention had been paid to each course. However, I can't help but think there are other restaurants in Bristol which I would choose over this one next time I'm looking to celebrate a special occasion. Aside from the eye-watering expense, the service was efficient although quite aloof at times. It's a very formal affair compared to other establishments in Bristol and, for me personally, I missed the more relaxed feel. It really depends on what you like from a restaurant but if you're like me and prefer to be able to hold a conversation slightly louder than a hushed whisper and don't want to feel like you're being given the once-over by fellow patrons, I'd look elsewhere.

Loch Fyne Seafood & Grill Restaurant

The Old Granary, 51 Queen Charlotte St, Bristol BS1 4HQ, UK – 0117 930 7160

Can't fault this place. Exceptionally friendly service. So kind to my toddler. We had the 2 course meal for £12.50 and I thought it excellent value. The king prawn linguine in particular was divine.

Went Friday 20th April had table for 2. I had prawn cocktail for starter which was nice, husband had scallops, when plate arrived only 2 scallops expensive for what it was. Main I had smoked fish on mash with sauce & lots of greens. Too much sauce, the little mash I was given dissipated into sauce, really needed spoon to scoop up. Fish was tasty. Husband enjoyed his main. Decided not to bother with sweet. French waiter who served us, tall, slim with glasses, screwed his face up to my husband a few times he didn't think I noticed. Not a great experience.

The Thali Restaurant Montpellier

12 York Rd, Bristol BS6 5QE, UK – 0117 942 6687

This site is great! We came from tourism to Bristol and we did not know where to eat. We searched for reviews on google and people valued this site very well. We can not be happier to have made the decision to come. There is a menu of 7 pounds that is super complete and delicious "Thali express" and we combine it with a mango lassie. The food was delicious and authentic. We were greeted by "Archie", a very friendly and attentive waiter. We did not stop commenting on how good the food was and we left wanting to repeat, although unfortunately, we do not live in the city.

really well prepared food that is really tasty. Has got a little pricier over the years but the food and the service is great and the attention to detail is really nice. Have eaten here several times and im sure i will be dinning here throughout my life living in Bristol.
