Cinemas around Bristol

Showcase Cinema

Glass House Ln, Bristol BS1 3BX, UK – 0871 220 1000

Great cinema.Nice and big loads of room. Lovely bar in the foyer to have a drink before or after. My favourite part of this cinema is the director's hall or lounge where u can have a drink and have something to eat while watching the film in total comfort. With nice space between you and the person next to you.

Big, nice cinema in the heart to Bristol's shopping complex. One of the best seat technology I have seen in the cinemas. Big screen and great surrounding sound without being too loud. Overpriced snacks and drinks, but variety of options to chose from. Also has a bar inside which is a nice detail for waiting adults.

Odeon Cinema Bristol

Union St, Avon, Bristol BS1 2DS, UK – 0333 014 4501

Before I share the cons, I must say the staff seem friendly and it's only £5 which is nice and cheap. The downside: We watched hereditary, which granted has many super quiet scenes, and every now and then we could hear distant roaring of dinosaurs and at one point the Jurassic park theme tune from screen next door. The picture and audio also seem to be slightly below what seems to be the standard of other cinemas I've been to.

A quaint lovely little cinema that takes the time to welcome you as an individual, and not just a number, like the multiplexes, with their cold, and vile receptionists you encounter these day's. In addition, and most importantly the price is less than half of that of nearby cinema. £5 for an adult. To top it all off roomy spacious comfy seating.

Everyman Bristol

Whiteladies Rd, Bristol BS8 2NH, UK – 0871 906 9060

A truly superb small screens cinema to visit. Using the listed building of the old Whiteladies Cinema, it is far from old inside. Really modern with none of the garish colour schemes of the big chains, you'll see the difference as soon as you walk in. Then, as you enter one of the 3 studio screens you'll feel the difference as you sit down. Big, comfy chairs and sofa style seats complete with armchair tables and footrests, spaciously laid out and well raked for fantastic viewing to match the comfort. Latest technology and good design bring you crystal clear digital video and perfect surround sound. Add to all that the brilliant, friendly and efficient staff; a good menu of food, snacks and drinks (order before going in for waiter service to your seat) and you'll quickly understand why this so deserves the five stars. Marginally dearer than many other cinemas, massively better as well.

Lovely cinema. Friendly staff, awesome quality screens, amazingly comfortable seats, and delicious food. They even offer blankets. I mean, what more could you ask of a cinema? Honestly, the best cinema experience in Bristol.

Theatres for Bristol

Tobacco Factory Theatres

The Tobacco Factory, Raleigh Rd, Bristol BS3 1TF, UK – 0117 902 0344

It's a small intimate theatre. Very good bar and cafe downstairs. The plays that it puts on are generally very good although as you would expect they vary. Can get a bit hot inside at times and there are some pillars but nothing that should interfere with watching the performance.

This is a really good venue. From Shakespeare to children's puppet shows, opera to stand up, there is something for everyone. The main space is fantastic and flexible and the bar area well stocked and caters for all tastes. Restaurants and bars are all close by. Parking can be an issue in daytime, but evenings Aldi car park is next door and can be used without worry

Bristol Hippodrome

St Augustine's Parade, Bristol BS1 4UZ, UK – 0844 871 3012

Saw Thriller Live. Very nice show. Pros: - Beautiful theatre with decent seating. - Friendly and helpful staff. - Performance enjoyed by all. Cons: - Annoying gaggle of school kids talked the whole way through the performance. It was most noticeable during quiet parts of songs. Emphasis needs to be placed on respecting other patrons and security should tell people to be quiet! - Exits need to be more clearly marked. There was some confusion during leaving. It can get a bit too crowded. - I am not sure why my bag needed to be partly searched before entering 🤔 .

Went to see Awful Auntie, the show was superb. It was easy to find out seats. We had seats in the grand circle and we had a fantastic view. The staff are all very helpful and polite. The toilets were busy but very clean. Overall this was a fantastic experience. It gets very crowded after the show finishes with everyone trying to get out - so you either have to be fast.. or just wait in your seat for a bit and let the crowds die down before attempting to leave.

Theatre Bristol

Fire station, 82-84 York Rd, Bristol BS3 4AL, UK – 0117 373 0873

Great day out for children whom are interested in science. Would recommend as something to go and do if your only in Bristol a short time.

The oldest English speaking theatre in the world, amazing building and great productions. Pretty much every seat gives you a great view.
